... no longer slaves Gal 4:1 But I say that as long as the son is a child, he is in no way different from a servant, though he is lord of all; Gal 4:2 But is under keepers and managers till the time fixed by the father. Gal 4:3 So we, when we were young, were kept under the first rules of the world; Gal 4:4 But when the time had come, God sent out his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Gal 4:5 That he might make them free who were under the law, and that we might be given the place of sons. Gal 4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent out the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, saying, Abba, Father. Gal 4:7 So that you are no longer a servant, but a son; and if a son, then the heritage of God is yours.
Rom 8:15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery again to fear, but you received a Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba! Father! Rom 8:16 The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God. Rom 8:17 And if children, also heirs; truly heirs of God, and joint-heirs of Christ, if indeed we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.
The word used in Romans 8:15 above, "adoption" is a VERY important word to you and I. It is from the Greek word "huiothesia." I am not a Greek scholar nor am I trying to teach Greek, however, as diligent seekers of God, Hebrews 11:6, we need to probe a little deeper into this word than the King Jimmy version of our bibles reveals: Proverbs 25:2 tells us that it is "The glory of God is to hide a thing; but the honor of kings is to search out a matter."
#5206 = huiothesia hwee-oth-es-ee'-ah
from a presumed compound of #5207 and a derivative of #5087; the placing as a son, i.e. adoption (figuratively, Christian sonship in respect to God):--adoption (of children, of sons).
You and I had been in bondage and slavery to rudimentary elementals of the Letter (that killeth) long enough.
Mind if I ask you a question? Do you understand Salvation as outlined in scripture? Most folk, including most Preachers and Teachers (most that I have have heard) do not understand it.
